How do you get there?
Take Panoramic Hwy from MV to Pantoll Station, right on Pantoll and then another right at the big parking lot onto West Ridgecrest. Park in the designated parking area outside the gate or right across the road and walk up the hill through the gate to the left.
Great atmosphere, love the rhythms and space effects.

Peter Coyote it gladdens my heart to see you. That is one very contented dog. Does a dog have a Buddha mine? Mu. What is really mind boggling to me is I can move my iPhone around and see your ceiling fan or your pots and pans in your Kitchen. That is totally crazy! What I see is you conceal nothing. The Buddha resigns in you as it does in me as it does in your dog. I meant you in a brief time in Marin when you were moving. We ended up connecting talking about green gulch Zen center. I would really like to be your Dharma buddy! My mother is dying and I would really like to connect with someone. Please?

The Microcosm sounds wonderful with the Neotone! I have this constant back and forth with the Neotone. Some days I think its the perfect missing link for my music, other days I just love playing the Meridian. Videos like this inspire to get one I must say. Thanks so much for sharing this wonderful piece of music.
Thanks Phil... it's a very unusual instrument to be sure and not a substitute for steel pans in many cases. But for someone like me who absolutely loves to record, come up with new scales and experiment, it's a huge gift to my process. In the intimate settings of the hospice/vigil work that I aspire to, it would not be appropriate and I'm evaluating a 16-note C# Aegean at the moment specifically for that kind of work, we'll see.

This guy is amazing. I’m a grieving veteran already mourning the upcoming loss of my service/companion dog and just finding this channel is a lifesaver. He starts low and seems to identify where you are at but pulls you in for a smile, a laugh or a sing even leaving you feeling a bit better than just minutes before. This guy would probably done quite well in the courts of middle aged Europe. A master at his profession.

I found this very disturbing. YES he has a great voice! But this is a spiritual song, performed by a man who can't be himself, he's not "comfortable in his own skin", who paints his face white like death, who buries himself in misery and pity, but is arrogant enough to wear a crown, and proceeds to destroy a song that is famous for making people feel better and strengthening their emotional ties to God and/or something greater than themselves. Yet he turns it into questioning God, mocking God, and a "cold and broken Hallelujah". Yes he has a great voice, but the message he's sending through his appearance, emotions, and by turning the holy into the profane, I find very disturbing!!

Thanks Alexis! I use two Audix SCX1-HC hypercardioid condenser mics, positioned about 16" above each side of the handpan. (I remove them from the video when I add the "magic window" layer, but they're there.). The SCX1-HCs are the "affordable" equivalent of the legendary Schoeps MK4 condensers.
